12 New Year’s Resolutions and How You Can Achieve Them

We are nearing the end of 2017’s first week and most of us have set our own list of New Year’s resolution. After a few hours, even days of indulging with retrospection and evaluating our life choices, we are committed to achieving this perfect opportunity to start anew.

Crossing out items on our list of resolutions will be easy until we reach mid February then it will become a struggle. It will continue to become difficult as the year progress. HireSmartVAs perfectly understands the challenge.

What follows is a monthly resolution goals with a piece of advice on how to achieve it without causing a drastic change in your life….well, maybe form a new habit is the perfect way to put it.

January – No more procrastination
One of the, if not the most, biggest roadblock any person faces from reaching their goals is the need to relax and do something fun instead of working hard. Of course, who can resist fun? No one!

Once you form a habit of procrastination, it’s going to be difficult to get out of your system. If you have put off many tasks or projects last year, better move now and snap yourself out of it before it gets back to you. You need to put a lot of hard work to change this bad habit.

February – Improve your focus
It’s been ages since mankind started to find ways to improve focus and cognitive capabilities and most of our ancestors have combined mental exercise such as meditation (yoga) and herbal medicine to help achieve this goal.

Now with today’s technology, we can use applications found online to boost your concentration and improve your brain skills. You can start searching for these applications and find out what fits you. If you go through this, you may be able to have more control with you mood and learn faster.

March – Become more confident and take risks
Confident people stand out in a crowd. They are the ones who can easily say their opinions and be heard, get better job opportunities or even get a date of whoever they want.

A good amount of self-confidence will help you lead a satisfied life overall. Don’t hesitate to learn ways to boost your confidence.

April – Earn more money
Even the 5 richest people listed by Forbes don’t stop in finding ways to earn more. What more us commoners? People like us can definitely use a better source of income to make life a bit more comfortable.

May – Manage stress

June – Learn a useful hobby
Being a couch potato will not get you anywhere. Don’t get me wrong, once or twice a month binge watching is not bad but if you are doing it more than once a week, you will be in big trouble.

It would be more beneficial to you and your health if you can use your free time in a more constructive manner and pick up new skills while having fun at the same time.

July – Get more good sleep
With the never-ending evolution of technology, it gets more and more difficult to escape smart phones, TVs, tablets, and all sorts of gadgets with bright lights and beeping alerts. All these around us, it can be very difficult to get enough sleep at night.

No matter how busy you are or you status in life is, we all should be aiming for at least 8 hours of sleep at night. There are simple ways to achieve this number such as eating right, effective time management; meditating, exercising and the list could go on.

August – Adopt a cute pet
There is always a spot in our heart for a pet. Regardless if you are dog person, a cat person, an exotic pet type of person.

More often than not, we forget that soft spot in our life when we start to overthink things. Having a pet is similar to having a child of your own, you are force to be more responsible to know what your pet wants and understand what your pet needs.

September – Be more organized
It’s not an excuse if you don’t have much time in your hands – every thing is all about time management and being organized. If you can’t manage your time and be organized, you will be spending your day running around aimlessly.

When you start organizing everything around you starting from your thoughts to your workstations, you will be surprised how much more time you can spare and things will just fall into place.

October – Spend more time with people you love
Life is too precious to waste time on insincere, two-faced, and toxic people. These are the people who suck the life out of you. Stay away from them.

We should be focusing our time on people whom we really care about and who care about us. That is the best and easiest way to stay happy.

November – Get out of debt
If you are weighed down by your own debt, you can never really move forward in life.

The road to financial freedom is not easy and can be really bumpy but if you are able to surpass the bump and manage your finances effectively, you will never believe how good it will feel.

December – Reinvent Yourself
“If you are not happy don’t do it” this phrase is easier said than done. It will take serious changes in your life.

Reinventing yourself would give you a whole new perspective in life and take you in directions you never dreamed possible. So this new year, start appreciating and stop complaining. Look at things in a different perspective and count your blessings.
