Most of the time, working comfortably at home as a virtual assistant can still catch us with some minor complaints about things that stress us out than the work itself. Since VAs are spending most of the time working on a desk, these are typically the minor things like sitting for a longer period of time can heat up our legs and thighs, long hours of talking in front of our computers or any small factors that adds up to our sedentary lifestyle that makes us tired and feeling uncomfortable which often neglected.
Good thing, we found some ways to hack this daily barrier that gets in the way of our concentration.
Here are some great ideas you might need to invest on in the future to help you upgrade your home-based job completely.
Straight Up!
It may sound a little extreme, but incorrect posture or wrong sitting position can lead to many serious health problems. Good posture is maintained only when our weight is taken evenly on a chair and our feet are both rested in neutral, but the goal is to keep yourself straight for hours, which is quite impossible to most of us. Luckily, I’ve found cushioning device called BackJoy that helps me overcome the stress from an improper sitting position and helped me relieved my back pains. It’s a one-piece device where you can comfortably sit on and it will naturally correct your posture without you thinking about it so I can focus on the job and not worrying about posture anymore!
Proper Ventilation
Poor ventilation system doubles the indoor air pollution which can lead to health problems including headaches, allergies, rashes, etc. Plus, it also develops condensation which can cause harm to your electronics or any equipment you use for work. That’s why I always make sure to keep the air well-circulated and conditioned during my shift. I highly recommend using an AC (air conditioning unit) can do the job really well with less maintenance.
Find The Best Spot!
For me to be able to work efficiently every day, I always make sure that I’ll spend the entire working hours at the comfort of my own office space. Finding the perfect area in your home with less noise and away from any distractions are very important. It keeps you focus on your work not worrying for any disturbance that may interfere especially if you’re talking on the phone more often. In addition, I’ve also invested with these Sound-absorbing Foam Panels that effectively improves the natural sound quality in my home office and disperse most of the unwanted noise from the outside.
