The “mom guilt” was intense for Jessie.
With a newborn baby and a partner working overseas, Jessie faced numerous challenges trying to juggle her career and family life.
She worked as an operations supervisor at a business process outsourcing (BPO) company, leaving her baby in others’ care as she traveled 90 minutes to and from work, spending many long hours away from the new love of her life.
“The nature of my (BPO) job was very demanding and took up most of my time, and I vividly recall feeling overwhelmed and unable to spend enough time with my baby,” said Jessie. “This led to a great deal of guilt as a mom, and then my mental health suffered as a result, and eventually, I reached a breaking point.”
She had enough and quit.
“I decided to focus on my baby, but I still wanted to continue working,” said Jessie. “So the best solution for me was a work-from-home setup.”
